Introduction to Microsoft Cloud Computing

This one-day instructor-led is intended for IT professionals who are interested in expanding their knowledge base and technical skills with an understanding of the Cloud and Microsoft Cloud Products such as Azure, Office 365, One Drive, and InTune. In this course, students learn high-level terminology, structure, security, deployment, and migration practices as well as the general scope of Microsoft Cloud product offerings.

After completing this module, students will be able to:

  • Describe the key features, of LDAP and why they are important
  • Understand what X.500 systems are and how they relate to Active Directory and Cloud systems
  • Describe X.509 certificate services and now PKI is used with Directories and Cloud services for Authentication and Encryption
  • Understand why SSO is important and to be able to distinguish between Same and Single Sign-On
  • Describe the common Microsoft implementations of Same and Single Sign-On

Module 4: Control of Data and Continuity of Services

  • Lesson 2: How Claims systems can replace GUID and ACL biased systems

After completing this module, students will be able to:

  • Describe the key features used in traditional systems and how new claims biased systems have an advantage in the cloud

Module 9: Labs and Demonstrations

  • Lesson 1: Depending on the time allotted and the audience, the instructor may choose to present a selection of these demonstrations, or if the equipment is available, give time for students to acquire some hands-on experience.

  • Lesson 3: Office 365 simulation walkthrough

After completing this module, students will be able to:

  • Describe the key features for evaluating Microsoft Azure availability
  • Perform walkthrough of Office 365 management environments
